Weber Maschinenbau's first Supplier Day

Big data, blockchain or cloud computing: these terms have become an indispensable part of everyday working life. Behind this is the so-called digital transformation, which means significant changes in the organizational structure of a company and its employees' work. But above all, digital transformation offers the opportunity to work together more efficiently. Weber Maschinenbau therefore invited visitors to its first Supplier Dayin order to exchange ideas with its top-selling suppliers on digital transformation in purchasing.

CEO Tobias Weber opened the event with an overview of the industry and current market developments. His presentation focused on disruption, i.e. the replacement of traditional business models or markets by innovations in the wake of the upheaval in the digital economy. Disruption is a common vocabulary, especially among start-ups.

During a tour of the company premises, the Weber Buyer Team showed the visitors in which areas Weber's digital transformation has already found its way. The presentation of the digital twin in particular met with great interest, as suppliers had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the 3D model of a slicer with the help of VR and AR glasses. Round table sessions rounded off the programme: digital document handover, paperless order processing and the potential of a closer partnership were among the topics discussed in small groups, said the company.
