Natural solutions for a sustainable future

Chr. Hansen is dedicated to ensuring improved food and health not only for this generation but for the generations to come. To do this, the company is actively contributing to the UN Global Goals, such as Goal #3 for good health and well-being. This is one of the reasons that Chr. Hansen was ranked as the world’s most sustainable company earlier this year – with 82% of revenue directly supporting the UN global goals for sustainable development.

As a leading, global bioscience company, Chr. Hansen develops and produces cultures, enzymes, probiotics and natural colors, allowing food manufacturers to produce more with less – while also reducing the use of chemicals and other synthetic additives. This makes its natural solutions highly relevant in today’s world.

Consumers are looking for clean label and for products that are good for them, not jeopardizing their health due to a too high intake of for instance salt, sugar and fat. Chr. Hansen offers solutions – for instance the awarded culture SWEETY® that can make fermented milk products healthier by reducing added sugar yet keeping the good taste of the product.

When it comes to food and beverage, it’s not enough that they’re healthy and taste good – they must also LOOK good. This where bright and vibrant natural colors based on edible sources come in. The company's natural color solutions work brilliantly in a variety of applications – from sweet to savory to thirst quenching, says Chr. Hansen. The latest innovation, FruitMax® Reds from the Hansen sweet potato with vibrant red colorings provide a plant-based alternative to carmine and synthetic reds and received the prestigious Innovation Award at this year’s IFT Food Expo. The judges highlighted that the red colorings are heat and light-stable with no off-tastes and are less pH sensitive than other fruit and vegetable concentrates.

Chr. Hansen works together with customers to optimize formulations and bring extra value to new or redesigned products. Experts in Food Cultures & Enzymes and Natural Colors will be on hand during GFM Dubai to help develop consumer appealing, healthier and more sustainable products. Stand S2-A6 in Sheikh Saeed Hall 2.
