Caffè Carraro launches compatible capsules

2020-01-23

The new capsules were unveiled at the latest “Marca” exhibition, which took place in Bologna, Italy on 15 and 16 January 2020. They have joined “Nespresso” compatible capsules as part of the eco-friendly selection. The company’s presence at the event in Bologna underlined not only its tireless commitment to sustainability but also its dedication to retail chains, and private label products in particular.

After a busy autumn that saw it take part in the “Host” exhibition, present two new product lines and reveal a revamped brand image, Caffè Carraro got 2020 off to an equally effervescent start at the “Marca” show by launching yet another product line: compostable “A Modo Mio” compatible capsules. They are the latest addition to a selection that now encompasses all of the most widespread formats and highlights the Veneto-based roasting company’s efforts to provide a comprehensive range for all of its target markets, from the food service industry to retail chains. It goes to particularly great lengths in the realm of private labels, which requires a very specific approach because Caffè Carraro supplies products for other organizations but it is also a business with its own brand and traditions.

The company operates on two fronts. On the one hand, it independently manages its own brand, making decisions about matters such as image, product quality and how its output should evolve over time, as well as introducing different sales strategies for different territories. At the same time, full cooperation with the chains in question plays a crucial role in private label projects. The technical and quality specifications for the products are strict but less subject to change over time

The concept of “sustainability” means much more to Caffè Carraro than just marketing environmentally friendly solutions. The company endeavours to buy and use batches of raw coffee and cocoa that are grown in accordance with the UTZ programme: a sustainability scheme for growers of raw materials such as cocoa, coffee and tea. It helps to introduce agricultural methods that are more effective than traditional approaches, in order to improve working conditions, boost incomes and enhance overall well-being. It involves supporting the supply chain from the very start and respecting both raw materials and the frequently underprivileged people who grow them, the company pointed out.
